Supply Chain Planner
|
Responsible for collection of pertinent manufacturing information from suppliers
(examples: for both top level and lower level components – part number, fabrication
risk estimate, contract schedule requirement, component production rates, shipping
schedules, unit of issue, on hand inventory, point of contact, etc.). Perform Material
Program Management and Planner functions, identify production risks due to material
availability in the supply chain for each component, meet and discuss situations
with supply chain vendors, build partnerships throughout supply chain, support executive
and operational customers as a subject matter expert, assist in analysis of production
simulation results. Must interact and perform competently within a manufacturing
and material process team environment. Some travel required.
Required Skills:
This individual must have excellent knowledge and understanding of the following
supply chain and related systems concepts:
- the tiered work breakdown structure (WBS) for the components that make up the final
assembly
- material procurement processes for end item and sub-tier fabrication (i.e., integration
of schedules of the supply chain providers)
- the goes-into relationship of component materials and suppliers
- MRP, material receiving, and manufacturing processes
- production operations, to include manufacturing rates, capacities, lead times, yields,
etc.
Other desired skills include analytical capability such as knowledge of statistical
process control and manufacturing simulation. Must be a self-starter, capable of
achieving organizational and program objectives, and able to interface with all
levels of internal management, supplier management, and the external customer. Strong
project management and presentation skills, as well as excellent written and oral
communication skills are required. U.S. citizenship required.
